Genetic Counselling :

In some cases, a pregnancy failure may be governed by a genetic predisposition. It is important to identify genetic conditions that could give rise to a miscarriage so that the risk of recurrence is reduced.

Genetic counseling is a process through which guests at risk of an inherited genetic disorder are advised of the probability of developing or transmitting the condition. A roadmap is then laid out, outlining prevention and risk minimisation measures.

At Usha Nursing Home, our expert maternal and fetal medicine team conducts a detailed genetic evaluation called pedigree charting on high-risk guests. Genetic counselling is usually followed by specific genetic tests that aim to highlight mutations and the likelihood of their appearance. These tests serve as predictive tools to determine recurrence risk. Genetic counselling facilitates prenatal diagnosis, around the 11th week of pregnancy.

Must-knows During Pregnancy

As one of the premier Maternity healthcare centers, we understand the complexities women face during pregnancy. During your visits, we focus on various aspects including healthy eating, regular physical activities, screening tests you might require, and how to control pre-birth jitters. Since our inception, Usha Nursing Home has helped mothers cherish every moment of the incredible process of pregnancy!

During the nine months of pregnancy, you might have to visit your doctor anywhere between 10 and 15 times. Typically, during the first and second trimesters you will have routine prenatal checkups every month. In the third trimester, you will have to visit the doctor every fortnight. In the ninth month, you might have to visit every week so the doctor can monitor the baby’s readiness for delivery.

Exercising regularly while you are expecting will improve your muscle tone, strength and endurance. This in turn will help you better carry the additional weight you gain during pregnancy, besides preparing you for the physical demands of labour and caring for a newborn.
